    Links on usernames 404 when WP installed in subdirectory

    Hi,

    I have Wordpress installed in a subdirectory but running from the root of the domain as described in the codex article Giving WordPress Its Own Directory. I discovered that when it is set up this way then the links on usernames (such as the commenter or posted by link) 404 when clicked. Everything else works fine. When I put all the files in the root, or actually use the subdirectory URL to run WP, then the username links work. Can this be fixed? I hate to have all the Wordpress files there in the root. Thanks.
