Just launched. Looking for some feedback.

I'm happy to finally launch this personal project of mine, guamgrabs.com. I've been in and out of this project for over two years experimenting with different layouts, features, etc.. Many times wanting to give up on it. I ended up buying one child theme (with messy code) and completely modifying it. A lot of custom features in this site. Many features have yet to be implemented due to time. With that being said, I'm looking for constructive feedback. Thanks you!

    Hi sed671,

It seems that you still have a ways to go, but I like what you've done with this so far. And it's great to see someone removing the default CP look and going full custom (for the most part). Comments below:

    PROS

    • The header is nice and simple/clean
    • Having the dedicated login & registration pages with no site content is nice
    • The product image size on the single ad page is nice and big (I've just changed the size on my site - screenshot below)

    CONS
    • The "Contact Seller" pop-up does not have a close button (I know you can click the overlay to close, but being able to click a button and press ESC as well would be more user-friendly)
    • When I attempt to scroll on the FAQ page, the screen goes all jumpy and does not scroll

    Sed671,

    Very Nice!

You have implimented a feature I have been trying to add to my site but never managed.
This is the single ad image viewer.

How did you manage to get rid of the light box and use the method you are using?
Could or would you be kind enough to share?
This is how it should be in classipress by default. I hate the light box viewer and image popups.

Thanks for the feedback bleem. The child-theme I worked off from "Cutest Theme v3.1" from Classipro. The child-theme came with that feature. I'm trying to refine the image viewer so it fades onto the next image, not completely disappear before the next image is loaded. I don't know if that makes sense.

I like the theme and the simplicity of it. The only i thing i would miss is the date when an ad is posted. You do seem to have a nice amount of ads and sellers on your website

Thanks Tom! I opted not to include the date as I thought it wasn't an important piece of data for this particular website. GuamGrabs has been a Facebook group for 3 years now and currently has 27,000+ locals. From my observation, photos, title, price and location were the important ones. But we'll see as we move along. The group has definitely helped us with exposure.
