Just got this new site up and sorted out. Included enhancements; banner advertising using WP-Bannerize with some JQuery for rotation ,an ajax event calendar and the flipbook plugin for the online version of the print newspaper. This one also has a custom export for the typesetter to bring the ads in.

how did you make the buisness directory page? and what defines what ads are going in there?
because when creating an ad, on your site, there's no field, to define if your a company or a private person.

Very nice and conservative looking site

You are having issues how your site looks on small screens (check it on any netbook). But that is minor thing - people understand that some sites have problems when they are opened on small screens

Probably, I would suggest few things:

1) put FB Likes widget to 1st page (you need those Likes very much)... and after that get at least 500 Likes - that will make you look much more serious
2) question - do you really need that directory? ... there is no structure at all... distracts attention. But, if you want it - use subdomain and create professional looking one.

otherwise - it is nice to see that somebody is having both - newspaper and online classifieds (5 years ago i had a newspaper as well).

This site is really beautiful! I love you how you converted the "blog" into a business directory. It's a great idea (and I might steal it hehe!).
