I would like to know if this basic design with some minor mods (all from the various forums) is ready to be launched or is it still too "me too-ish"

Be brutal, rather sort it out now than later! Note that the logo still needs to be designed though...

It looks good to me. There's certainly no reason why it's not ready to be launched, I can see a couple of the subtle changes..(additional categories tab, and resized featured ad slider images).. Once you get your logo, real ad content and advertising spots it will look like it has been around for ages
