    Spacifieds.com

    Hi all,

I just recently started my own CP site after seeing so many all over the web. We're excited about it and love the theme. Great job guys! Just wanted to introduce myself and my new CP site. I've decided to make it free to post rather than charge a fee for posting ad listings. Featured listings are of course fee based. Feedback is appreciated... Thanks!

    Regards,
    Eric

    Looks good.

Can you share how you did the "tweet" modification?

    Re: Spacifieds.com

    Thanks!

I'm using the Tweetable plugin. There is a small issue with it though. If Twitter is having any problems, or if their service is intermittent for any reason Tweetable will return a fatal parse error. This will sometimes happen immediately after a user submits an ad, thereby erasing the data in the ad submission form, requiring the user to repost. I'm, working on the issue now to find a fix. I don't think this problem is with the Tweetable plugin itself though. I think it is a Twitter issue.

Other than that one thing, it works GREAT! It allows ALL my users/member ads to be posted automatically to my Twitter page LIVE! I don't have to Tweet at all. Tweetable does it for me.

The ReTweet button is in every ad too. Users can Tweet any ad they want including their own to their Twitter account. It works great if you want to Tweet specific ads too.

Now that sounds pretty cool, not having to do all the tweets yourself.

Please keep me updated on the fix as I would like to eliminate my tweets and have users do it for me.

Looks good. Not sure if you actually want the "Profile", "Dashboard", and "Edit Ad" links along the top and bottom nav bars though? The install instructions have a step to hide these links as they appear in the top-right when a user is logged in anyway.. Currently if a user isn't registered and logged in, they get the following error:

Warning: error_log(/var/www/vhosts/spacifieds.com/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-seo-pack/all_in_one_seo_pack.log) [function.error-log]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /var/www/vhosts/spacifieds.com/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-seo-pack/aioseop.class.php on line 924

To hide these pages, go to the CP general config settings and look for "Exclude Pages from Nav" and put the page numbers in as per the instructions.

Hmmm... That's weird. I noticed that too. But when I refreshed and went to another page no more error. I couldn't get it to duplicate either.

    Is it still doing it?

Nevermind... Don't know how I missed that. Wow, that's not cool.

Ok, fixed! Thanks. It was the checkbox in All In One SEO Pack that said "Log Important Events". Basically it was trying to write to a non-existent log file.

I use the http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-to-twitter/ plugin. It works great and sounds more like what you're describing.

Interesting site. Did notice however on mouseovering your images they seem to 'jump'. I am using FF 3.5. You might want to look into that if thats not the effect you are going for.

    Other than that, good luck!
