I Would Really Appreciate Feedback On My Site

    Dear All

I am close to completion of my first job site and was hoping for feedback from anyone kind enough to view my site and take the time to comment.

It is very early days and I havent added many jobs yet and am still working through all that and learning as I go.

The site is here at internationalmedicaljobs and also I have the domain as .com (premium URL that was expensive). I am basically trying to learn the ropes and get a feel for the industry and how things work before spending bigger money on getting a full blown site built.

The site is aimed at medical staff working in remote locations around the world which is the industry that I currently work in. Any feedback would be apreciated. I prefer simple and uncluttered but open to all suggestions.

    Many Thanks

    BB

(PS: Not sure if i am allowed to ask this but I wanted to make some tweaks that are beyond my capability. are there are developers on here that may be able assist for a fee. Sorry for asking if that is not the dome thing.)

    Hi bowerboy,

Congrats in getting launched - it's always the hardest

We've been doing customisations to JobRoller and if you want to bounce a few things off of me, just shoot a pm.

As for your website itself, there's not much I can fault it on - largely as it uses the box-standard template that comes packaged with JobRoller. While this is definitely good quality, it's hardly unique and you'll find that users might have seen the exact same job board (at least look & feel wise) elsewhere. To that end, my recommendation would always be to customise as much as possible (skill / budget permitting).

Something you might be interested in, and at the risk of shameless self promotion, we've recently released a child theme for JobRoller. In essence, a child theme is something that sits on top of your existing jobroller installation and changes the look & feel completely, while keeping the functionality in tact. If you're keen on a demo, check out the link underneath (entitled Prima) in my signature area.

Shoot me a message if you've got any questions

    Agree with chifen.
To me looks quite a plain installation of the original theme.
Best of luck with your project,
