plan not creating subscription despite forced recurring being chosen

running stripe plugin 1.1.2 - vantage pro theme - directory child theme -

i am able to create a new listing and chose credit card as payment method and pay and this all works fine. However when i log into stripe and check my customers i see the charge go through as a payment but it doesn't create a subscription. I included some screenshots of my payment settings and plan settings below.
