    Adding a custom page to vantage dashboard

    I have created a custom page that is to be added to the user dashboard and i can get it to work by changing the dashboard.php file in the includes folder. However i want to make these changes in my child theme without,making the changes in the parent them. Any ideas of how i can do this.
