Claiming a listing for a certain period of time?

    Hello,

I think the ability to have someone claim a listing is a great feature. However, since I have already created the listing myself with a default of "never expiring," what happens if the claiming user chooses a 30-day plan? In my mind, I want to give that user the ability to edit and change his listing for a period of 30 days. Or, maybe to have "control" over his listing for a full year, if he wants to pay up for that.

But here's the thing: It seems to me that if a user claims a listing and pays for 30 days, the listing will now expire after 30 days (instead of NOT expiring at all), which serves NEITHER of us well. Am I correct here? Or, does the "user claim period" expire, rather than the listing?

I mean, why on earth would someone claim a listing if that would cause the listing (and the research and effort we put into creating it) to expire, when it would not have expired at all if he hadn't claimed it in the first place?

    Am I making any sense?

    Thanks, Jeff k2kv
