'Edit Listing' in the sidebar for logged in users

Hey all,
Like the title suggests. I would like to make a link display for users to be able to edit their listing directly from a sidebar when they are logged in. I have added the code and it does display the edit listing link, but only when their listing is visible on the page (whether they are in the search results showing their listing, or in their actual page itself).

When you are anywhere else in the site it doesn't display the link.

Any ideas?
