SEO and Vantage

SEO suggestions people have? thought it would be nice to start a thread. A few things that i have hated about vantage is the use of H tags for layout purposes. My site is NOT about "categories" and its not about "business title" I think its important for people to change all these to spans, and keep the heading tags for the topics of your page.
Next, the awful hidden links... oh my... please don't make themes with hidden links, I have found 3 links on my site that have been hidden by the template authors, its very damaging for
SEO...
Overall the system is excellent starting point, anything you have had success with? Any changes you made to rank better?
