Set Height of Header Background Image

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone would be able to offer some advice on setting the header background image.

My header is over 590px in height, however I can only get just over 260px of it to show. This also seems to be governed by the height of the navigation and search container. I have removed the search part and so even less of the header background image is showing. However with the search box displaying I get a reasonable amount of the header background image showing.
