Vantage Spam Registrations

I have upgraded WordPress blog sites with Vantage. The sites have not had spam registrations in the past, soon after Vantage is activated they start, mostly from hotmail email addresses.

I have tried a few WordPress captcha plugins, most do not appear correctly on the Vantage pages. SI CAPTCHA Anti-Spam appears OK but does not seem to stop registrations.

I guess these are automated sign-ups, does anyone know which WordPress captcha plugin works ?
