Logo image not uploading and ads not displaying when published

Really frustrating. I tried to upload a new logo. Worked the first time but didn't update on the home page. Then when I tried to upload again all I get is a little "x" in the image section and consiquently the classipress logo appears on random pages. The image is only about 40kb and I've tried in jpeg and other formats.

Secondly when I re-publish expired ads logged in as admin they don't appear on the site or they aren't in the featured roller despite flushing. Please help!!!!
