I'm using Hostgator(shared) to host a plain wordpress site(not classipress) and it's very fast. For classipress I'm using Bluehost and I noticed it is slower than Hostgator. Not sure if classipress slows wordpress down or if Bluehost is slower than Hostgator though. My classipress site has very few hits, less than about 100/day. My Wordpress site on Hostgator has many more hits and it's faster.

Anyone here who host it on Dreamhost web hosting plan? Not the VPS. Is it any good?
I had the regular plan before moving up to a VPS with Dreamhost and it was great too. I had the chance to lock in a great deal ($10 off VPS per month!) and took it. I can give you a promo code for the basic plan if interested.

I use sitegroud (Web Hosting Services and Free Domain by SiteGround) and have for years. It was recommended to me by a friend in Australia (Im in USA). I love it, always up, decent help service when needed, best prices i have found. No this isn;t a promop for it, but if you plan on using it, let me give you a link so i can make something on it, -OR- I think that have specials where friends of customers can sign up for a year of service for 9.95. If they still have that I can direct you to it also.

Anyways, no probs, have used them for 3-4 sites over the last 2 years.

Frankly, I haven't read all 7 pages but BlueHost.com is very good and just $6.95 per month for multpole websites. They currently have a $5.95 special. I signed with them and got a ClassiPress discount. I have several most low traffic sites up and one medium traffic one.

Support and up time are very good.

    GoGVO Hosting Services

I have been using Kiosk since 1997, they have by now changed their name to GoGVO, check it out. Or give it a 14 days FREE trail. Great host for Joomla and WordPress sites, their 24/7 support is outstanding (if you ever need it, their are on your issue within minutes). Today i have an shared hosting/reseller account (all unlimited, and belive me IT IS ALL UNLIMITED, most probably the only host which keep their words) where i'm hosting 17 Joomla and WordPress sites, cost $44.95 pr month. Prices starting at $3.95 per month.

I'm in the middle of an odissey to find the perfect host company for my classipress system.

I just started with a shared plan with unlimited bandwith and 10gb of disk space and a Red Hat control panel, after 6 months, disk space has reached 90% of it's capabilities so I was forced to move to another host company, I chose goDaddy's Ultimate shared plan, unlimited bandwith, unlimited disk space, databases and custom Control Panel, however after 2 weekes I realized that google crawler was acting strange, it was not crawling a lot of pages, the traffic has decreased significantly. After researching I discovered this is a recurring problem, so I moved my 4.6gb website again, now to Hostgator's shared plan.

Hostgator has a great service, premium support, unlimited bandwith, unlimited disk space, unlimited domains, and it uses cpanel. Perfect! The website is running smooth and faster! BUT! They have the 250.000 inodes limitation!!! So every time a new file, image or anything else is uploaded, it counts as one more inode, since I have a classifieds websites, every day thousands of images are uploaded to the server, therefore, I'm reaching the inodes limit.

In short, I need a VPS or a dedicated server. At this moment I'm moving to a PS plan at Dreamhost, it's a VPS web server and VPS mySQL server. I hope everything will run ok now, however, after reading some reviews in the web I'm concerned about performance. I will test the system under a temporary domain before pointing the primary domain dns...

What I'm trying to say is that if you want to create a website to make money, to take seriously, especially a classifieds system that could become huge, think about starting on a scalable VPS.

I forgot to mention, that GoDaddy has a huge problem regarding the sending of e-mails by wordpress, both, via smtp as the native function, I simply could not solve. No email was sent.
