Anyone else having trouble

Is anyone else having trouble with plugins for Version 2.8.4?

I use Filezilla as my ftp and the files do show in the ftp, however, they do not show in the WP control panel under plugins.

Is this just a matter of the plugins not being compatible with Version 2.8.4?

Are you referring to the plugins that come with CP?

I usually download the .zip files and then upload them from within WP rather than uploading via ftp. For some plugins, you need to upload the folder inside rather than the folder on your hard drive. For instance you download plugin1.0.zip. When you unzip it, you get a folder plugin1.0 on your harddrive. Inside that will be another folder called "plugin". You might need to upload just "plugin" rather than plugin1.0.

I was talking about other plugins that do not come with CP.

I thought it was a folder issue as well and verified it was indeed the correct photo.

I am having the same problem with themes for other blogs as well.

This is always the problem with upgrading right away. It's usually better to give the plugin writers a chance to catch up.
