This is the reason why I don't like the idea of hiring someone to modify AppTheme for me even though I have some ideas to make my ClassiPress site even better. I learned that lesson from the movie THE SOCIAL NETWORK ....starring Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook.

You did not ask for a plugin, and the plugin has more features than you asked for. I have already offered to return your money with the sales money or other products if you like. My client for Nigeria for whom I have modded Nigeriads.com.ng, had this idea long before you did and even asked for this to be made a core feature on this thread: http://forums.appthemes.com/states-r...paid-ad-29736/. Because of the costs he had to delay implementing this until his site is 2.0. He uses my account and that can be confirmed by an admin who will have access IP address and started this thread to showcase his website: http://forums.appthemes.com/over-60-...-classi-30391/. I will PM you his details if you need to verify. The idea really is a no-brainer and hundreds of Classifieds sites have that feature, including most of my client's biggest competitors including http://www.tradestable.com.ng/ http://dealfish.com.ng/ and http://www.bunchbay.com/ . It is a must-have feature that ClassiPress lacks so it is better to be out in the community. We are almost done with the city version called "Citify Ultimate" as well and hope that people will benefit from that too. If we don't do it, someone else will, and you can't stop that happening. Like I said it has more you than you asked for, a plugin instead of a mod, please understand that it is very convenient to just modify the theme files to achieve this, but I made this into a plugin so you have the convenience to switch it on, off or copy it over on numerous websites, as will others and you would agree this should have been a core feature within ClassiPress.

Perhaps a good example here for the Apptheme community how important when coding for a customer, the terms of use are clear upfront for all parties and whether the work is licensed for use as opposed to transfer of ownership.

Never mind, but do you use any other instant messenger? My question about the below excerpt is that once you land on the "homepage" for a state, are you only then allowed view listings for that state on the whole site until you change the state from the dropdown menu? So when you click a category or use search you only see listings for that "active" state?

OK, what is involved? We need to store the selected state in a cookie and modify all queries to only show results from the selected state, so the site becomes state-specific. The states can be switched from the category-like drop-down menu, so we will create the functionality. The cost of these changes will be $*****.


I see now, that is a completely different thing to what we did on NigeriAds.com.ng since once the site is state-specific, we will not need to do the mods we did on that site, the results will be filtered already and all the pages will only show results from the selected state unless the state mode is cancelled.


Now, if you require it to look like http://eddieslists.com/ which you say is your son's site and which I reckon is a quite heavily modified version, you will have to clone it for your site before we proceed to make our changes.

See now, you stole our idea and we paid you hundreds of dollars to develop this for our site. Actually you did not go beyond what we wanted because you met our criteria we requested. It's all in the emails!

It's not reasonable because what we get now, is NOTHING that sets us apart from others, meaning Classipress users. It's not only about the money, it's about the client and how he has deceived us. What he saw was an opportunity to make more money than what we paid him. That's not right and you know it!

However, someone just told me to offer it to the apptheme community for FREE. If he is going to try to make money off of our project that we paid him for, perhaps we should offer it FREE so Mohsin wont make no money. After all, Mohsin was willing to give us everything he has for FREE, right Mohsin. That's another email, for another time.
