Thread: Classipress as Auction theme!

Ok, you are doing some jobs around looks great...

Well i need some input of what is needed in an auction site/plugin, i have looked into the biggest norwegian auction site and have most in place
in regards to that, i guess. This is what i have by now:

1. Rating of seller and buyer.
2. Contact seller.
3. View sellers information, username, adress, about.
4. Seller can choose to add buy now auction, bid auction or both.
5. Set amount of images to upload.
6. Localization by google map.
7. Add all types of custom fields from admin backend, auction details, freight etc.
8. Countdown timer, days, hours, minutes and sec.
9. View all auctions of seller.
10. View ALL auctions, view active auctions, view buy now auctions and auctions by category (last one need still some work)

A few issues and javascript conflicts to solve, but it already works wonderful with classipress theme and headline childtheme. Also tested with a few other child themes

How far is this from completion?. Will you be selling it and how much?.

Can you have this mixed in with normal ads too? Ie:

1. Normal ad
2. Auction ad
3. Normal ad
4. Auction ad

Would be good if you could have that as an option.

What about a minimum selling price?.

How do you set a charge for the auction? Ie: free auctions or a % of the final selling price etc

Well actually i have just a few issues with Javascript conflicts to solve, conflicts with other plugins. I am testing it with more than 20 of the most used plugins.

In regards to selling it i am still thinking, this because i have purchased this plugin a while ago, it had lots of issues which i have fixed and by now it is mostly re-written by 60% i guess, but still not sure what laws says about selling. Will check more around..

Yes as it use post and postmeta, same as classipress ads, it should be possible to make it work together with ads like the way you think.

You can set minimum selling price and buy now price.

You can charge a fee per each auction, percent taken from item price when sold, featured pricing and fee per each bid.

Well, the plugin is by now totally rewritten, new widgets added, last chance/soon to end auctions, email notifications, countdowntimer, minimums price, buy now price, better styiling, better ratingsystem, auction listings, new backend/admin, choose image uploader php or flash/ajax, set max images, max image size and more +++.. Version 3.0.1 will be available later today/evening. And more documentation coming soon. NOTE: Still doing tests before an stable release will come within a week or so.

Just tested it mate... You done a great job so far .. but the way you choose, my opinion its slightly wrong .. not following WordPress recommend structure
