Thread: Dynamic Drop Downs for Country, State, and City

We have not commenced yet, but will let you guys know when we do. It's just a case of discussing a couple of issues and finding enough time and more importantly, we need more people to show interest!

We think it will be amazing with this too. This is one thing that we want to consider, so that it works for everyone. We want people whose sites work just for one country to be able to use this too by just "turning off" the country selection part, in the same way, we hope it will be possible to switch off "states" or "cities" too. I will come back to this issue when we discuss it in the office.

For others in the meanwhile, please do register your interest as we do not have enough as yet for this long and hard piece of development!

I'd be in line to buy it for sure. I'd easily pay $100 for this feature alone. Hope you do it, already looking into hiring outside freelancers but if you decide to go through with it then I think it would be more beneficial as a plugin for the community.

Hi Mohsino, This is the plugin/script that i have definitely been waiting for! I would be very interested in purchasing this from you. I have a a suggestion.

It would be cool if you could make a multi-tier dynamic drop down menu. What i mean is, we as the end user, could create any combination of categories, subcategories, or sub sub categories we would like. Some of us would like a Country, state, and city hierarchy. Others might want just a state, city, and sub region hierarchy. So what ever combination we desire, we should be able to customize and name that category. I hope i make sense. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks again for your work! I'm planning on purchasing your ClassiClean theme by the way. Its awesome. Thanks again!

I can assure you we are thinking on the same terms. I have come across sites which use custom fields like region, area, neighbourhoods etc. So even if it takes a bit more time, it will be worth developing something that works for everyone. The only thing holding me from starting right now is the current custom projects in queue. I have found another thread where a few other people are interested in something like this.

I also want this functionality.

Specifically, 2 levels of hierarchy would be enough for me (I see your "Statify" and "Citify" plug-ins provide only 1 level).

I would be interested in dynamic country, region and county fields for the UK. It is a feature that ought to have been designed into the core theme.

Thanks for registering your interest. The work on this plugin/mod combo has started, no timeline yet on when it will be ready. But we're moving along nicely with it.
