Index.php in URL

My website is hosted on a Windows Server running Apache Tomcat & Plesk and I would LOVE to rid my website of the dreaded 'index.php' from the URL..

I am not a server config person, so can anyone advise on how to change this:

http://www.seemeadvert.co.uk/index.php/ads/%postname%

to this;

http://www.seemeadvert.co.uk/ads/%postname%

As you already know WordPress and windows are not working together very well. You will need to ask your hosting company to prorerly install WP for you so that it supports pretty urls.

Dimitris, I can run pretty URL's but with Classipress I cannot get it to work WITHOUT the index.php being present, looked at .htaccess files and commands etc, just not happening at all.

Dimitris, further to your comment I have looked at those links and it gave me some info I was not aware of in relation to Apache running with IIS and I am going to have a play with my test server before implementing on my hosting server - thanks!

OK, although the server is running Apache Tomcat, that is only taking care of scripting, the IIS is dealing with everything else, therefore once the mod_rewrite version of IIS had been implemented, the web.config file attached to this message is simply placed in the root of the website - (remove the .txt extension)
