Protect your entire site, blog or whatever you want...

As a webmaster, one of your biggest fear is to discover one day that your website has been hacked. The risk to lose your data, your Google position and/or your customers is high if a hacker take the control of your website.
Sur you are carefull, you update regularly the scripts your are using and use sophisticated passwords. The PC you are using to upload your files is equipped with an uptodate antivirus, you never doing ftp transfer from a public PC. As a summary you are applying all the common sense rules to avoid hacking.

CrawlProtect do more, by blocking all connection which have been identified as:

-code injection attempts
-SQL injection attempts
-visits coming from crawler known as "Badbots" (crawlers used by hackers)
-website copier
-shell command execution attempts

As all protection system, CrawlProtect cannot garantee that your website will never be hacked, but it's a new wall that hackers need to pass if they want to hack your website. With CrawlProtect, your website become a nearly inviolable fortress.

Google uses crawlsers, so this will make it harder to advertise thought google if im right?

Don't think that, the script only block the bad bots. I'm using from month ago, and no change im my reference with google.

I have not tested that script but have used a plugin like this WordPress › WordPress Firewall « WordPress Plugins .

can't be installed as a wordpress plugin.

nvm got it to work, should not be installed as plugin. I just uploaded to the root of my ftp server.
seems to work fine , thx for sharing.

one of the features is it prevents website copiers, and i just tested that with httrack, and it actually works very usefull

1. Can that plugin easily installed to any wordpress theme (just like that) without any customization ? I mean can a newbie like me run it easily?
2. Noted that plugin was last updated: 2009-8-12 ... Is it still usefull?
