    Public_html Memory Error ?

Error Msg: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 71 bytes) in /home/ehawkins/public_html/wp-includes/taxonomy.php

I installed the Wp3 Total Cache plug in, once activated I got similar message to above. I removed the Plug-in and files and now the subcategory dropdown menu is not working when users try to post an ad, the above memory error is being displayed when you select the dropdown.

This is a new site in development, i have loads of diskspace.

    Any Ideas Please ?

    Thank you, Ehawkins1

This is quite common on shared hosting platforms, where hosting providers limit you in the use of memory allocated to php processes. You need to talk to your webhosting provider, because 32M is barely sufficient for WordPress 3.4. To be on the safe side, you would need at least 64M preferably even 128M. We are talking about php memory limits, not physical disk space.

I have one plug-in 'ultimate slider' If i enable another plug-in, the site functionality suffers and I get errors''Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 71 bytes) in /home/ehawkins/public_html/wp-includes/taxonomy.php on line 2776''. Thesse additional plugins worked find until this morning. I contacted my shared webhosting as suggested who has increased the memory limit to 64Mb and max upload to 63Mb. I am giving time for changes to take effect.

Have you any other thoughts on this, thank you for your support.

Only increasing memory limit can help with this problem and nothing else.
