Old 2.9 front page ad listing option with filters

Need the old 2.9 way of displaying ads on the front page.

The old way looked like an Excel spreadsheet and all ads were on one page in list form. The header allowed you to sort by Title, Cost, Date. Please include the ability to add custom fields to the sort fields.

Current functionality "boxes" each ad individually and does not allow you to apply filters to a view.

Yeah, I have to say filtering the ads by price, location etc.. is really important. I would have thought there would have at least been a way to sort by price since it didn't work properly in the older version.

yes, it is a really must have, I don't why it was removed at all ? how can we have it back again ?

How do you typically prioritize feature requests? I know you're swamped right now with 3.0 questions and bug fixes.

I just wanted to ask you to consider adding some of the features removed from 3.0 which were present in 2.9. Would you consider doing that? I'm mostly interested in the old view which had a list of ads with filters at the top. I think there are quite a few posts from people who do miss this feature.

I don't particularly care about the look of the 2.9 but being able to filter the ads is hugely important. If they can't be filtered, then only the most current ads will be looked at. How do you sell an ad when the day after tomorrow the ad is on page three and nobody is looking at it? I am still a bit bewildered that there isn't any filtering option. Not even on price?

I will have to come up with a solution to this one way or another.

Moderate Wordpress and php knowlege would be required...
I would reccomend starting by compairing the index templates from both versions. I'm not aware of any technical reasons why it cant be done. The ad data fields may different, and I have noticed that 3.0.x is more database-centric (a good thing to be sure), but the concept should be similar.

Although this is something I'd like to see as well, it is not at the top of my list right now. I was hoping that someone in the community might pick it up. So, if you can find the time, go for it.
