    How does rss work?

    I'm afraid I have no idea how rss works. I can see from the wp-admin area that I need to get a feedburner url, but what do I fill in there? The home page of the site? I want it to notify people every time a new ad is listed, or a new blog post is added, preferably both, but if I can only choose one then I'd want the ads.

    So what do I do? When I go to feedburner it tells me to type in my blog or feed address. Is that the main site address or is it categories or what? And then what do I do? Do I have to activate something?
