Login Redirect to Specific page, NOT Home page.....

I am raising the white flag here........
After code alteration, plugin failures and tears, I have given up on what seems should be an inherent feature.

I simply want someone who is logging in to be directed to a specific landing page. NOT be directed to my home page. This is redundant and I need to be able to capture and deliver information to my audience with a custom post-login landing page.

ANY help or guidance is very much appreciated. I have scoured this forum and Google to no avail. I do see some possible solutions with other applications, Vantage etc., but for reasons beyond me, Appthemes will not share this data unless you are a Vantage or other theme owner - to the detriment of all users really.
