    Question Pricing Model By Category Needs Improvement.

    Pricing Models: If you choose to charge by category, then you have to place the price in the parent categories. If you don’t, the prices for sub-categories will not display and will be free of charge.

    You must also select “yes” for “Allow Parent Category Posting:” in the backend General Settings. If you don’t, then no price will be charged for sub-categories. So only “yes” can be selected, AND you have to place a price in the parent categories.

    What does this mean? It means when a customer is using the ad form, they will select the parent category, and see the price of $49.99(example). Then when they select a sub-category, they will see the sub-category price, $49.99. Anyone looking at this would automatically add the two and think the ad is $99.98. Which it isn’t.

    Why is this happening? Because the form doesn't reset itself for the parent category price, IF a sub-category is chosen. It just sits there with the price displayed. I have also tried a zero price for sub-categories. So you would think the programming would remember the pricing of the parent category and pass it on, when paying right? Wrong. It completely discards this price, and allows the customer to post a free ad.

    So what are you left with?
    You can either get burned by no charges occurring when you try to stop confusing the customer with the above fixes. Or, you can make money, BUT loose many sales because the customer thinks you are charging them for the parent category price AND the sub-category price displayed. You pick.

    I'm dying to hear the explanation on why this was programmed this way?? I have tried all methods, not allowing posting in parent categories, allowing, price in parent categories, no pricing, pricing sub-categories with pricing parent categories, no pricing parent categories, no pricing sub-categories and pricing parent categories. By all means feel free to explain to me, why the price is showing up for both the category and sub-category, when the CP Theme charges just for the sub-category pricing, after the customer selects a sub-category of the parent category??

    $function ('CUSTOMIZATION'); } else { .DESIGN { display: awesome; }
    If you require any additional functionality or design customization, just ask. Afterall... anything is possible! However, I may not know how to implement your particular request, but if you don't ask, you don't get

    If you build it, they will come...
