Profile with Registration

Hi
As Cp now included a function for "add new fields to the user profile" "theme-profile.php".
I add some new fields and all shows up in profile - I add the same fields to the registration.
(Reason: I want to have some of the profile fields also being included at the registration)
(also try to include the standard First/Last name into registration).

All Fields are shows everywhere nicely.

The problem is.... it does not save any of the data at the registration -or- at when changing in "update profile"

I obviously must be doing something wrong.

Is there a tutorial on this? Or advise?

(the feature is there so I really don't want to use a plugin)
