refined search when using search bar

Hi all,

I would like to refine results after I've search using search bar. Normally refine search is activated only when one of the categories is clicked on, but if you i.e. type in the search bar "mazda" and select caregory "cars" it will find all mazda cars but you can't refine it any further by price, distance radius etc.

would there be a way to do this?

any help is much appreciated
