Updating the upload image feature to upload file feature

I have searched all documentations and forum questions here and there, but no success.

How can we update the 'Upload image' functionality to let users to upload other file formats via 'Upload image' in ad submission? Then renaming the label to 'Upload image/document'.

I want to let users to upload any documents (in word/pdf format) for their ad.

Is there any plugin to use for this purpose?
