Username & Display Name

Hi,

Just looking at the log in situation and I think it could be a bit complicated for users for these reasons:

1) You can't use Captial letters in your username

2) The display dropdown in the profile edit does display your new username instantly - instead you have to save and go back to it.

It there anyway to allow the users to register with a display name (with or without spaces and captial letters) right form the start? (perhaps this is a Wordpress limitation)

Does anyone know how to make the display dropdown update itself instantly as it does within the Wordpress backend?
