Ok, so to confirm a few things please:

In the General Settings of your WP Dashboard, is the e-mail address currently set to the correct admin e-mail you wish to use? Can you also confirm that this same e-mail address is working correctly in terms of all other mail sent and received from that address? Have you tested this problem out also by using a different e-mail address from a different source?

email address is correct in general settings of wp (and password details are being sent to registrant)
same email address is working fine when sending and receiving emails in outlook express
tested using a different email address in general settings and still no notifications

Sorry, I'm looking to get a bit of assistance with this one as it seems a little different to other e-mail related issues I have seen come up before. Will try and get back to you asap. Thanks.

This might be a silly question but have you turned on the "Email Notifications" under the CP settings page? Make sure it's set to "Yes". In addition, deactivate any other plugins you may have to make sure nothing else could be interfering with it.

Also make sure to check your spam folders b/c email clients seem to like to block automated emails from WordPress b/c they look like spam.

Email notifications is (and always has been) set to yes.
All plugins as recommended except for one, which would not affect as when installed I already had the problem with emails, plug in is WP No Category Base Removes '/category'
No spam folders set up on email accounts registered (using email accounts from some of my other domains) and they are receiving log in details..

Notice in WP dashboard it says under
RECENT DRAFTS
There are no drafts at the moment
Surely this should say what ad drafts there are (3) one ad/draft made a couple of minutes before posting this to check.
Have just tested making a post draft thro wp which does show draft showing in WP dashboard.
So maybe not getting emails because does not recognise that a draft is being made when an ad is made.

I'm really sorry this thread hasn't been updated. I have brought the email issues to David's attention as it appears to be an issue tied in with the other thread http://wpclassipress.com/forum/viewt...8&p=9740#p9740, specifically a bug with version 2.9.3.

Thanks but the answer has totally pissed me off.
I mentioned in viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2116 I had 2 projects planned one ok in 2.9 the other I would wait for in 3, now I am being told that I have to wait for 3 for both.
Wasted several days trying to figure out the problem and it was first reported by me 11 days ago.
If, as it now seems, it is a bug then why is it still for sale in this form, are you going to keep saying sorry to people but it will be fine in v3, remembering of course that the date for release of v3 has been continually put back?
As I said, totally pissed off with your answer.
