Problem with item description field

Why does the item description field require so many characters before it's accepted as being completed?

I've tested the classified submission form and it just goes back to the form after you've clicked to submit and doesn't offer the submitter any explanation of why it's not being accepted. I just happened to add more information in the description area and it went through or I wouldn't have figured it out either.

I think there should be some sort of explanation for the submitter to let them know why it hasn't been accepted or at least tell them before hand that they need a description of XXX number of characters in the field.

Is there any way to change this?
