Can someone explain..

I haven't got the ClassiPress theme yet, but can someone explain just how the actual process of transactions work ? so for example, I want to buy something, I presume I add it to a cart? I then go through the payment process (let's say I use paypal) and I pay for whatever it is.

Then what happens?

Does the buyer get a confirmation email?

Does the seller get told what's been sold? and how is the whole process at this stage handled? is it simply up to the seller to send whatever it is to the buyer?

What about digital goods? can these be automatically sent?

Is money held in escrow somehow?

If you use percentage of sale, at what point does that percentage be taken out and sent to you, the sites owner?
