custom field values
The default values for field_type (among other things) can be changed within the database itself. I have managed to change my default Country field to a text box this way. I have changed this back, in favour of a custom field because it is part of the Classipress core, and I suspect that future upgrades will reset any such direct changes back to the default settings. Besides, if you don't know what your doing, manually editing your database could seriously "pooch" your site.
Having said that...
Although I have set the default value of a new custom Country text box field to "Canada", I am unable to get that value to populate in the text box. If I could get that to work, I would also like to make it hidden.
I just can't get this to work. Any ideas out there?
