    Mysql and UTF8 and UTF8mb4 issues.

    Okay devs or experts.

    What's the deal with utf8 and utf8mb4?

    I am suddenly having some issues re-uploading my database via sql due to encoding issues primarily due to some plugins having utf8mb4 encoding and other files using utf8.

    Never had this issue before until recently. Why is this suddenly happening?

    Is it something to do with wordpress core development and updates to wordpress?
