Thread: Order in which Ads are Displayed

Order in which Ads are Displayed

First question:

What is the default order in which ads are displayed in their respective categories? It appears to be newest to oldest with the most recent listings displayed at the top. Is this correct?

I uploaded a list of 20 ads with different dates and times and they were displayed this way. I then uploaded another list of 20 ads with the SAME EXACT date and time and gave them all different ID numbers. At this point, the ads seemed to be displayed in random order as far as I could tell.

Is this correct?


Second Question:

How do I change this to display ads based on another criteria. For example, say I have 1,000 ads in a category and I want to display them by another field like street address. Or even an ID number.

Where do I go to make this change? I have been searching for hours and have yet to find a thread explain this or explain it in a manner that I can understand.

For example:

Dim Sum Restaurant | 823 Adams St.
Applebys | 111 Broadway Blvd
TGIF | 8988 J St.
Roadhouse Grill | 4545 Western Ave.


Most of the stuff I have seen focused on the home page and I am more concerned with the regular results that appear when you open a specific category. Thank you.
