Is there a way to JUST charge for featured ads??

Pepsi writes: Yes you can. Currently the process of doing this is to set the pricing option to "yes" to charge for listing ads, and then create an ad pack with a $0 amount to retain the free ad price. You obviously need to set a featured ad price as well for the featured ad box to appear in the ad posting form. In future the developer will be looking at improving this process, however this is the only way of setting it up to work correctly.
Unfortunately once the "Charge for Listing ads" is turned on the "New Ad Status: Published" is overridden and all ads require approval. Is there a way to get that working in any other way?
