My upgrade to v3 does not look like the demo site.

I followed the instructions and I don't know what wrong. For starters, my images in the Featured Listings slider are so huge that you can see only the tops of them.
On the demo site, there is the entire category listing section just below the slider. That is missing from mine. On mine, it goes straight to the "Just Listed/Most Popular/Random" tab listings, and again the thumbs are so huge that the text and image are pushed out of place. The "Most Popular" tabs says, "Sorry, no listings were found."
There's more, but I'm too tired to get into it.
Are there instructions posted somewhere that say how to make your site look just like the demo? v3.0 looks sweet, but mine looks like crap. It looked way better in 2.9.
