Upgrading a child theme has put settings back to default
I am running Classipress 3.2.1 child theme on Wordpress 3.5.2 and wanted to upgrade both Wordpress and Classipress.
I thought I could set up a CP3.3.1 child theme, with the same files as the CP3.2.1 child, except for the style.cc s pointing to the new 3.3.1 version.
With
WP still at 3.5.2, I activated the new child theme and immediately got an error on the home page. So I switched back to the 3.2.1 child theme, but all the Classipress settings appear to have switched back to default. I wasn’t expecting this. I thought it might well not work properly, but I didn’t expect not to be able to go back to the old theme.
I’d like to go back to the Classipress 3.2.1 child theme on Wordpress 3.5.2, and then work out how to update on a test site.
As none of the files have changed, am I right in thinking I could just delete all the tables in the database and then import a backup copy of the database? Or is there some easy way of getting back to the settings?
I’ve switched on Launchpad’s maintenance landing page, so no-one can enter the site at the moment.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
