Upgrading from Clipper 1.6.4 to Clipper 2.x

I have some questions about the upgrade process to go from Clipper 1.6.4 to the newer Clipper 2.x as follows, and please trump in Jomark and community!

1. What options do I have to upgrade, is there a manual and automatic way to do this?
2. Does the upgrade path automatically, and seamlessly upgrade with no data loss to existing coupons, stores, settings, etc?
3. Can you use the AppThemes Updater plugin to upgrade?
4. Is there any other issues or recommendations before beginning an upgrade?
