Messaginging system between freelancer and employer

Hi All

I need to ask after the project is accepted by both parties is there any messaging system by which both (freelancer and employer can communicate with each other)?
I can't seem to find any such thing
i am not talking about clarification board as i know that can be used but prior to project being accepted as that is not to be used as a workspace which is after project gets accepted
any help will be appreciated.
