Total newbie in need of help

Hi all. I just downloaded the software this afternoon and I'm still trying to get it up. I have read the install guide http://www.appthemes.com/support/docs/ and have tried doing it through ftp and loading it directly through WP.

The way I am reading the install guide I am:
1) Unzip the compressed file
2) Then I am supposed to upload the jobroller.zip file through WP

I am not finding a file called "jobroller.zip" so I have been trying to upload the inzipped file. This obviously isnt right and the page sits saying "unpacking the package".

When I tried uploading the files through FTP everything appeared to work the first time, but when I tried to hit the activate button it says I have a syntax error on line 398.

I know I am probably missing/doing something really stupid. I appreciate all help in advance. Enjoy your holidays!
