Please help with timeout error message

Dear Dimitris,

Since our last conversation, I have used the listings importer for two small files. Today I tried to use it for a file that was roughly 2??KB in size. It came back with a fatal error messge. I, unfortunately, assumed that it was because there were too many items in there and so I didn't pay attention to exactly what the error message said. I then reduced the size of the file into half and tried to upload again. This time the error message came up as follows:

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/oursite/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 216

I have no idea what to look for in order to correct this. Can you please give me guidance as to what has happened?
