Search function broken vantage after changing home page

Hi there,

I changed my static home page from the standard one with the large map and listings, to my sitewide activity feed. Then the search function does not work, it doesnt return any results, it doesnt even change page, it just reloads my current page. once i change back to read the home page, then its back to normal.

Im running vantage release, not dev build, with buddypress and bbpress. I dont want to use the standard home page, so is there anyway to make it work using a different home page?
