Thread: Will importing listing with cateogry require categories to be created in advance?

Will importing listing with cateogry require categories to be created in advance?

I have crated some categories for my directory and now trying to import the listings. I am not sure if I have added all categories and subcategories. So my question is if I import listing with some category or sub-category will the listing import file create/add new category / sub category or will that listing fail (if the category has not been created beofe hand)?

Or in simple words do I need to ensure that all categories and sub categories are created before I import data in?
