includes/theme-xxyyzz.php files don't override parent theme?

Hi all, I'm using a child-theme and since 1.7 all my includes/theme-XXYYZZ.php don't override the parent theme any longer.

For example, I was trying to edit includes/theme-emails.php on the child theme but unfortunately it doesn't override the parent...

Any suggestions? Would I need to use Hooks?

    Thanks in advance
