Making permanent changes with a child theme.

Hi there,

I am trying to make some permanent edits to theme, which are not undone when you update JobRoller

I looked at the documentation to create a child theme.

I'm using the Prima Child theme for JobRoller and I am wondering

1) Should I change the styles sheets within the Prima Child theme and if so do I just need to upload it to the server once done or do I need to do something else too.
2) Should I create a new child theme altogether
