Sharing users across Jobroller, main theme and vbulletin

HI guys, I realize this is a little complex but I am looking to create a new wordpress-based site which has jobroller installed in a subdirectory and includes a vbulletin forum in another subdirectory. I am looking for a way to share all of these users amongst the 3 "areas" so that folks only have to register once to have access to all areas. Looks like you guys here at Appthemes managed to connect the site "membership area" with the vbulletin access. How did you accomplish this? I think installing a multisite option of wordpress would handle the wordpress site user sharing....
