Can users search by region or postcode?

Hi

I have a customer that's interested in setting up a classified site in France but it will mainly deal in furniture so being able to search/browse by region or postcode is really important to them.

Does Classipress support this and if so can you point me in the direction of a demo?

Yes, ClassiPress has an advanced search functionality which allows you to search by post code and other custom fields determined by you. You can see this in action on the ClassiPress demo site in the category view sidebar as "Refine Results". thanks for your response. Do you know if it's possible to link to a page of results that show items for sale in a region? We ideally want to create a list of all the regions showing the number of items for sale in each. Then clicking the region title would link to a results page show all items for sale in that area.

There is no setting in the default theme which would provide this functionality, so would require customization on your part if you were looking to implement such a thing. Alternatively you could look at something like the MapPress plugin from the AppThemes marketplace which can offer a visual form of ad locations based on a map. Thanks.

Search by city in main search

The refine search option is nice, but I'd like my users to be able to search by city from the main search, instead of having to wait until doing a keyword and category search, and then going to Refine Search on the search results page. Is there a way to add one more search filter option to the main search bar?

This too would ultimately require customization of the default theme, as there is no option which allows the advanced search to appear on the homepage. So technically yes it could be done if you have the coding knowledge to add it to the main index page. Thanks.
