child theme ... style.css file not updating from settings page

hi;

i recently purchased classipress, installed it and added a child theme , following your tutorial.

The theme activated OK, but when i make changes in the classipress general settings, and save, the website will not change.

I checked the style.css file in the child theme folder and the time stamp does not update.

If i remove that child theme style.css file, and refresh the page, then there is no css style on the page, and firebug confirms it.

So i put it back, and the css returns. Then if i manually change the style sheet to @import url("../classipress/styles/teal.css");

and refresh the site, the color will change to teal.

I have de-activated and reactivated the child theme, i did not make any mods to it.

Am i doing something wrong? I can manually update the file for changes, but cannot make changes via the settings page.
